No extra plugins would be needed if you would like to go with your custom integration. You need to make following configurations within your ServiceNow instance.
1. API End point (The Workday Web-service end point which you need to use to call API methods)
2. Authentication method (Basic/OAuth2.0)
3. API Methods (GET/PUT/POST/PATCH)
Please refer to the following resources to know about REST integration in details.

To integrate Workday and ServiceNow, you will need to use the Workday Integration Cloud (WIC) platform along with the ServiceNow IntegrationHub.
Here are the general steps to perform for the integration:
1. Configure Workday Integration System: You need to configure the Workday Integration System with the necessary security credentials, endpoints, and web services for accessing Workday data. You will also need to configure the outbound integrations in Workday to send data to ServiceNow.
2. Configure ServiceNow IntegrationHub: You need to configure IntegrationHub with the necessary credentials for accessing Workday data. You will also need to configure the inbound integrations in ServiceNow to receive data from Workday.
3. Create Integration Flow: Using IntegrationHub, create an integration flow that maps data between Workday and ServiceNow. You can use pre-built integration actions in IntegrationHub or create your own custom integration actions using JavaScript.
4. Test and Validate: Test the integration flow to ensure that data is being exchanged correctly between Workday and ServiceNow. You can use the IntegrationHub debugger to troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing.
5. Deploy: Once you have tested and validated the integration flow, you can deploy it to production and monitor it for any issues.
It's worth noting that the specifics of the integration will depend on your specific use case and business requirements. You may need to customize the integration flow or add additional steps to meet your needs.
