Hello All,
I have picked a group in the "Select Location" prompt to lodge this question but not sure it is the best option - there was no option for a specific employee growth/internal learning.
In our Dev environment I had built up some Learning to be consumed by our Company's staff. It all worked well and consisted of:
Course Catalog record (to group our company internal content)
Collection record (type Path) with the following Internal Course records associated -
- Internal Content (KB Article type) with an overview linked to the KB Article I published
- Internal Content (URL type) which has a link to some video content hosted on our internal Sharepoint
- Internal Content (Quiz) linked to an Exam record
- Exam record with 5 created questions and each question having its choice selections defined
The whole lot did not transfer well using the traditional update set approach and I ended up manually recreating some content in Prod (typically the Exam questions and their choice values).
I have 2 questions -
In Prod I can create a learning task and assign it to a user. The user can enroll and then start the course, however a message is presented in the widget on the ESC portal that reads "This content has limited access. Contact your admin if you have questions". So I am the admin and I have questions - why does this appear when I have set all known config (typically the Can Read related list tabs for each element listed above) and how would I remove it?
Question 2 is - once a user has commenced a "Learning Path" if you cancel the learning task it no longer shows for the user in the ESC portal. If you create a new learning task, the user again sees their course progress and it shows as where they had previously got to. Is there a way to reset that user's progress such that they start fresh?

I figured out the "limited access..." message - one "Can Read" entry missing. DOH!

It's likely caused by permission issues, even though you’ve set the Can Read related list tabs for the content, so I’d recommend double checking the Learning Content Access Control settings, ensuring that the user has the appropriate roles or group memberships for the course catalog and content, and verifying any record level ACL that may be restricting visibility; for resetting the user’s progress, you can either manually clear the Learning Progress or Completion Status in the Learning Task record or automate it with a script that resets these fields when the task is cancelled or re created, and if you’re still facing issues with transferring content between environments, I’d suggest using Application Data Export for more reliable migration of relational data like Exam Questions, as the traditional update set approach might not capture this correctly.....
