Hi community members, reaching out for best practices on setting up employee center when you have various personal types from numerous countries and using different languages.
In our case it’s HR, managers, and employees. HR is supporting everyone around the globe, so it’s overwhelming to see all articles on their employee center. Managers see their country content and manager specific resources, though they would like to see content from their employee countries too.
Is there any option to make the experience for everyone smooth and simple with
the out of the box functionality? Huge thank you in advance for your insights!

Setting up a persona-based ServiceNow Employee Center for global, multilingual teams requires leveraging dynamic content delivery, tailored user criteria, and a unified taxonomy.
Best practices include creating specific personas (e.g., HR, Managers, Employees) and using HR criteria and User Criteria to filter country-specific, language-localized content while maintaining a single, consistent portal experience.
- Implement Dynamic Content via User Criteria: Use HR Criteria and User Criteria to target content based on the employee's location, role, and department. This ensures managers only see relevant resources for their team's country, rather than a global overload.
- Leverage Unified Taxonomy & Topic Pages: Design a simple,, action-oriented taxonomy (e.g., "Request Time Off" instead of "HR Benefits") that works globally, while using topic pages to show localized content.
- Enable Language Localization: Utilize ServiceNow's internationalization features to translate articles, catalog items, and portal text. Implement localized search synonym dictionaries to improve accuracy.
- Structure Persona Views:
- Employees: Focus on a personalized dashboard with their active tasks, local country news, and quick links.
- Managers: Provide specialized widgets showing team-based actions and local, country-specific compliance resources.
- Avoid Over-Customization: Stick to out-of-the-box (OOB) capabilities as much as possible for easier maintenance, creating custom widgets only when necessary.
