Greetings @samadam. Can you clarify which Portal page you are referring to and/or are you able to provide a screenshot?

Greetings @samadam. Thank you for the additional information. As others have shared, this may result in a negative user experience. However, I'll share how I was able to locate the particular Widget and how you could hide the search bar.

While on the Employee Center Portal, hold the Ctrl key and right-click the screen and you should receive a specific menu. Navigate to and click "Show Widget Customizations".

This will now render the Employee Center with outlines around each of the different Widgets. As shown in the screenshot below, you should see two separate information icons. These are two separate Widgets that are being displayed; however, one Widget is nested within the other Widget. The Widget in the upper-right is called "Homepage Search" and the Widget that is the search bar is called "Typeahead Search".

Unfortunately, because these Widgets are out of the box, they are both read-only and CANNOT be edited. What you can do, as touched on above, is make a clone of these out of the box Widgets.

Once you have a clone of the "Homepage Search" Widget, you will have to modify the Portal Page to remove the out of the box "Homepage Search" Widget and replace it with the newly cloned Widget. To get to the Page Designer, hold the Ctrl key + right-click on the Portal page to get the same menu as shown above. This time you will click on "Page in Designer".

Once you are in Page Designer, you will click into the top-container and delete the out of the box Widget.

After the out of the box "Homepage Search" Widget has been deleted, navigate on the left-hand side of the screen and search for the name of your cloned Widget. Add the cloned Widget to the now empty top container.

Once you have searched and found the name of your cloned Widget, click-and-drag the Widget from the left-hand side of the screen into the top container. Your Portal page should now be updated with the cloned Widget which can now be edited.

Follow the same instructions as mentioned above to get to the "Widget in Editor". Once the Widget Editor loads, you can simply comment out the HTML code and click Save

Navigate back to the Portal, refresh the page, and verify you no longer see the search bar. I hope this information is helpful. Again, please consider what others have shared of this leading to a negative customer experience.

if you remove then how will your end users search for what they want?
