We have started setting up HRSD and can see that there are Standard groups with "HR" as parent.
is that a best practice to use them instead of creating our own ? They all are setup with respective roles and I was wondering how others are doing it.

Hi @marcn,
You can use the OOB groups if they fullfill the needs of your company. Otherwise, you can create your own groups and they do not have to be linked to the HR parent group.
The advantage of adding the HR group as a parent is that you will inherit the OOB roles from HR. But if you want to create your own group, that's OK, but remember to add the basic HR roles to the group as well then.

we have used the same groups in the past and also created fresh if required as per customer's requirement.
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.
