UI Builder : Data Resource Conditions

I have the Look Up Multiple Records conditions set to:

It returns the correct data on its preview, but on the actual form it returns all the records instead with no filter applied.

Can the @Data.hrUiCtrl.atAGlance.data.user_sys_id be set directly in the condition or there should be some prep that needs to happen? Not really sure what needs to be done as the blog posts, videos and docs I've gone through did not specify anything that a controller values can or can't be used in the Data Resources conditions.

I'm also getting this same error. I heard that the condition builder doesn't work well with using data resources but I really hope this isn't the case and that it gets fixed.
