unable to create HR Catalog Item from Manage HR Catalog

Hello,

Creating  a new HR Catalog Item from within the Manage HR Catalog application  fails. I'm trying to do this as admin. I'm not certain this has worked for us before.  I'm a relative rookie-level SN admin.

Steps:

open Manage HR Catalog, click on an HR Category, click the new Catalog Item button, enter data into the required fields.  hit Publish.

Result:

SN states that the item is created, but nothing shows up.  Looking in respective areas I can see that the HR Template is created, and so is the corresponding HR Category.  The Catalog Item itself is not.

Furthermore, if I try to do any of this as an HR_Admin, I cannot see even the default catalog categories listed, and if I try to create a new category within there, it says it "cannot save category".  .... Also, this HR_Admin user cannot see any items in the catalog view within the HR Service Portal.

Some context:

We have just upgraded from Fuji to Helsinki.  I only enabled HR Service Management plugin AFTER the upgrade. Our instance used to be an Express instance that was migrated to Enterprise. Even though we've only really used the basic Incident management modules there were some 2265 skipped updates.  MY default action on many of these was to revert to OOB, thinking that since we were so basic in usage that this would be proper.. That may have been a mistake.

I'm thinking there's an ACL problem, probably several, but I cannot seem to use the security rules debugger with the manage HR Catalog application...the debugger doesn't appear on this screen like it does for other areas.

What else can I use to track down why this is failing?

If anyone has any clues about this, I'd be grateful. I'm hoping it's simple, but I fear the worst.

Hi _m@_

I don't think reverting to OOB will cause any of these issues. Have you gone through the steps given here   Create an HR catalog item

Hi Raj, thanks for responding.

Yes, the steps in the Create an HR catalog item are exactly what I'm doing.   In fact, it even reports back "catalog item created"....but if I publish, it doesnt show up in the HR Catalog Category, nor if I go to Maintain Catalog Items is it created there.   However, the template and HR Category of the same name as what the catalog item *should* are created.

to make this slightly more interesting, I CAN create the catalog item if I go in to record producers and create it there....it just seems to be related to being within the Manage HR Catalog area.

I've been able to solve the "HR_Admin user cannot see any items in the catalog view within the HR Service Portal." issue.   That was related to there being Express Security ACLs active in sc_cat_item_producer and sc_cat_item_category.

This one still vexes me.

Thanks.
