Hey ServiceNow Community,
My name is Attila and I’m based in Hungary. I started my career as a help desk agent, and then I was a software developer for more than 10 years. I joined the world of ServiceNow approximately 9 years ago as a Technical Consultant. Technically, I was still a developer, I just changed the programming language from Java / .Net to JavaScript, which was not new to me. My first ServiceNow project involved ITSM and ITOM implementations. I didn't have a mentor, so I made a lot of mistakes, but the important thing is that I learnt from them and tried to get better and better.
A couple of years later I was promoted to Solution Architect. I didn’t leave my developer activities behind, because it part of my personality. I still do this nowadays alongside my architect role.
When I became a CMA, I knew that I had to do some new activities in order to keep my certification, like giving presentations or writing blogs and articles. This was a new area for me, but I had a lot of ideas. First, I started writing articles. I always tried to select topics that are not widely known but can provide real value. My blog posts and articles can be seen under my profile on the ServiceNow Community page.
After K24, a few of us decided to build a developer community in Hungary and started organizing developer meetup events. We have already held our 6th event and we are now working on the 7th one. I am not only one of the organizers, but I also present different topics at these events.
I would also like to highlight my mentoring activities. Because I didn’t have the chance to learn from anyone, I decided to invest time in sharing my knowledge with people. I do personal mentoring at the company, and I have visited Hungarian universities multiple times to talk about ServiceNow to the students.
You can learn a lot and know many things, but the real value is when you share your knowledge to help people get better. This is why I share content.
This is the first time, when I have been named a ServiceNow MVP. I’m very proud of it.
