Important Updates to the ServiceNow Community Code of Conduct

The ServiceNow Community is built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to learning from one another. To protect that environment, we've made several important updates to our Community Code of Conduct — and we want to make sure every member knows what's changed and why.

What's New
As AI-generated content becomes more prevalent and community dynamics continue to evolve, we recognized the need to update our guidelines to reflect today's realities. Here's a breakdown of the key changes:
  • Clearer rules around AI usage. We've added explicit guidance on how AI tools can and cannot be used when contributing to the Community. Intentionally posting wholly AI-generated content without meaningful human contribution is now a content violation.
  • No more points-boosting. Artificially inflating your Community score undermines the trust and credibility that make this space valuable. We've made this explicitly prohibited.
  • Misinformation and "cert dumps" are off-limits. Intentionally posting misleading information, or promoting sites that sell certification dumps, are now clearly defined violations. Certifications matter — and so does earning them honestly.
  • Refreshed professionalism standards. We've updated our guidance on how members are expected to engage with one another, reinforcing the respectful, constructive tone that defines the best of our Community.
A Note on Leaderboards

We've also removed the Leaderboards feature. That said, your contributions still matter and will still be recognized — your profile will continue to reflect your rank, Solutions, and Helpfuls, so the work you've put in remains visible.  As we move forward we are evaluating new ways to recognize Community members' efforts.

We encourage every member to review the updated Code of Conduct in full. These changes exist to make the Community a better, more trustworthy resource for everyone — whether you're here to share expertise, ask questions, or learn from your peers.
