Over the past four weeks, I had the opportunity to be part of the Architecture Excellence (ArchX) program, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most engaging learning experiences I've had.

The program was structured across 4 weeks, with 2–3 modules unlocking every week, which gave us enough time to absorb the concepts, complete the activities, and interact with the community before moving on to the next set of topics.

What I liked most was that ArchX wasn't just about learning architecture. It was about understanding why we design solutions the way we do and how every decision impacts business outcomes.

Throughout the journey, I explored topics such as:

  • Project Team Roles & Responsibilities

  • ServiceNow Methodologies & Frameworks

  • Organizational Change Management

  • Architectural Blueprints

  • Requirements Gathering

  • Documentation Strategies

  • Communication

  • Data Strategies

  • Governance & Risk Mitigation

  • ServiceNow Workflows

Each module built upon the previous one, making it easy to connect concepts and understand the bigger picture.

What made this program different?

For me, the biggest highlight wasn't just the content—it was how we learned.

The activities were thoughtfully designed to make us think beyond the obvious. Instead of simply reading material and answering questions, we worked through practical exercises, participated in discussions, and even completed audio recording assignments. These activities encouraged us to look at problems from different perspectives, improve how we communicate ideas, and think more like architects rather than only developers or implementers.

As developers, we often focus on building solutions. ArchX helped me step back and ask questions like:

  • Why is this the right solution?

  • How will it impact the business?

  • Is there a better architectural approach?

  • How do governance, communication, and change management contribute to success?

That shift in mindset is something I'll carry forward in my projects.

A little extra motivation 😊

Another highlight of the program was the Bonus Badges. Receiving badges like 🏆 Engagement Champion and Super Star was definitely motivating. They encouraged us to actively participate, contribute to discussions, and stay engaged throughout the program.

I also loved the weekly fun activities hosted by the moderators. They gave us a chance to share our thoughts, experiences, and learnings while hearing from other participants as well. It wasn't just about completing modules—it was about learning together, exchanging perspectives, and building connections within the community. Those activities made the entire ArchX journey more interactive, enjoyable, and memorable.

My biggest takeaway

ArchX helped me develop a deeper understanding of architecture, not just from a technical perspective but from a business, customer, and strategic perspective.

It reinforced that successful implementations are built on much more than technical skills. They require collaboration, effective communication, thoughtful documentation, governance, change management, and, most importantly, understanding the customer's goals.

I'm grateful to all the mentors, SMEs, moderators, and everyone involved in creating such a well-structured and engaging learning experience.

Looking forward to applying these learnings in real-world ServiceNow implementations and continuing my journey toward becoming a architect.

Thank you, ServiceNow Learning & Enablement Team, for such a wonderful initiative!
