Parent Child Incidents Root Cause Problem

Hello,

 

I have a question about child incidents. When I connect a child incident to a parent incident, child doesn't update. Status remains same as before the connection. Doesn't show any comments or changes on child incident. Also, when parent is resolved child incident resolved automatically without root cause. This situation causes empty root cause results in the reports. How can we solve this?

Whenever any incident is updated as parent of 'N' numbers of incident then all the child should be updated with worknotes that "INC*** has been updated as parent of this incident and for future updates please refer to parent incident". Moreover whenever i'll close the parent then all the child should also get close with same assigned to and assignment group values & with couple of more selected values
