Hi All,
I have a customer who wants to know what exactly the the "Task Closer" business rule is used for and is it recommended to keep their configuration or revert it back to OOB?

I don't know which customizations your customer has done on this OOTB Business Rule, but I recommend reverting them as this BR has an impact on all task inherited tables and therefore the impacts are huge

HI @Imani Collins ,
I agree with Maik's statement, this OOB BR, you should revert back to OOB.
As far as the task closer BR goes, it works with task-type table state attributes, primarily used by the Task Active State Management business rule to set the active field based on state changes.
