How many columns does a report can display? Is there any limitation？

Dear Sir,

I need help to clarify if there is any limitation on the number of columns can be displayed on a report?  I want to generate a report (list type) with a large number of columns (> 50). I failed. It displayed abnormal. I wonder if there is any limitation somewhere in properties？

hello,

Do you mean the number of records? or do you mean the column field we see on the top?

For number of records yes you can easily extract more than 50 records.

If you can paste the screenshot error it would be easier to help you.

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your reply. I mean the column fields we can see on the top. We need a very wide column report. But we encountered a problem. When we add those columns (more than 50) via "Configuration>Form Layout" and then to show the list report, we found the report can't be displayed normally (many columns are blank). If we reduce the number of columns to 20, it became normal. So I raised the question to see if there is any limitation. And how can I fix it?

I tried it and I was able to get more than 80 columns in my report without any problem, so surely there is no limitation from ServiceNow end, maybe your session is getting freezed. Also ServiceNow ability can differ from instance to instance and more the customization slower the instance becomes.

So to your initial query no ServiceNow does not have nay limitation at least it can surely have 50 columns, but if you want to know why it is having this behaviour on your instance you can definitely check with HI support once.
