Employee Center: Need Search function to refresh and use new search words when changed

Currently when using the Search function, you will type in a word and it will search, if you attempt to type in a new word and press enter it will not update the search with the new word.I found out that the search function works fine for this -https://trinitydev.service-now.com/ess?id=search&spa=1&q=catalogs in dev instance and prod too.But the search does not update for ess2-https://trinitydev.service-now.com/ess2?id=search&spa=1&q=catalogs.So we can compare these two?
