This morning the new "Localization Expert Series" learning path on NowLearning went live, available here. As some of you know and if you've been reading my previous posts, you'll understand that it's a pretty vast topic often with few simple answers as it encompasses the entire platform as well as Solution Design, Coding Standards, product features, language concepts, style guides, language strategies, cultural adaptations, date formats, currencies etc, each requiring their own nuances.

With that in mind, we felt it was important to have a dedicated set of training courses that cover the most important and most frequent asks we get, ranging from the "fundamentals", through to how the translation tables work, or how to design a Global KB, how to localize a Service portal and even how to add a Language we don't provide via the Language Packs.

As you enroll in the path, you'll find that there are some prerequisite courses such as "Servicenow Fundamentals" and a few recommended courses. This is to ensure you (the participant) understand some of the terms, phrases and high-level platform concepts that are referred to in the path's courses.

More to come

All told this is just the beginning and the first version of the courses, in that in the future we have big plans for them. So we'd be very keen on your feedback. If you found the courses useful please let us know, if you learnt something you didn't know previously - please let us know, if you have any suggestions for additional modules - please let us know, if you think a certain type of lab will help you understand a concept that might be a bit too complex otherwise - please let us know.

Our main objective with this dedicated learning path is to empower you (no matter the persona type) with understanding what you need to know for when you need it.

If you check NowCreate in the coming days, you'll also find some new assets related to the localization topic with workshop decks for when you have those types of projects.

Future Implementations

As the world navigates it's way into a post-covid world, I often wonder how much will change vs how much will be as it was before. One thing I can say is that many Companies are looking at how best they empower their employees with in-country language content being one of the big ones. Mainly because of this new world of remote workers.

Are you part of a multi-lingual implementation / project currently? If so feel free to reach out to me, I'd be curious to see what languages and platform areas it involves.

So that just leaves me to say, enjoy the courses, see what you learn that you didn't know before and please provide us feedback on what you thought. For the trophy hunters out there, there's a few badges in it find_real_file.png

Please like, share and subscribe as it always helps.
