Sys ID error when trying to update data

Hello,

I am trying to update about 53 records with new data to our asset hardware table. I have exported the hardware records to a Excel file, made the changes, and then trying to import them  back with the new data but keep getting this missing column: Sys ID. However SYS ID is not a selectable column choice under my settings for the alm_hardware assets table. Can you help me get the missing column Sys ID so I can select it or tell me if there is a better way to update a records column with missing data? Thank you and much appreciated:

Hello Instead of doing it directly on table why not use an transform map?

Yes, I know that is an option but not sure how to use it when I just need to update one column of data. Can you show me when you get a chance?

Hello,

So you just need two field in excel one primary field which the system can use to identify which record need to be updated and second the field itself which needs to be updated.

Please watch the video below this explains creating data source and transform map in detail:-

Hello Peter,

I think you can create an excel file with Sys ID and other columns that you need to update as shown below:

find_real_file.png

Right click on list view and select Import and then select update option and import your excel file. Click on Upload button.

find_real_file.png

Now click on [Preview Imported data] button and then click on [Complete Import] button. The [Asset tag] data is update
