Vancouver is already in Early Access and now is a great time to evaluate What’s New in ITOM Health. There is an impressive list of enhancements and new features, but the star of the What’s New show is the ServiceNow AIOps Experience.

This app is for sure aptly named! The AIOps Experience contains three primary groups of capabilities. The Express List, Integration Launchpad and AIOps Dashboards. Let’s take a closer look.

Express List

This pausable live view of alerts provides a serious boost in efficiency to those that work with alerts. While I’m not sure of the mathematical equation which proves that simplicity equals power, I can tell you that the simplifications provided by the Express List allow your intuition to stay engaged longer so that you can take better advantage of features like automated RCA, ML alert grouping and playbook-based remediation. Stay in the moment when you need to, get your work done quickly and move on to a different high-value task.

You can of course personalize the Express List view and the filtering mechanism simply updates the live view without needing a screen refresh. You can filter on all alert attributes including runtime generated attributes like alert tags, priority, and impacted services. Given that this is ServiceNow, you can naturally filter on related attributes (aka dot-walking). For example, you can easily have a filter like this: “Show me all of the highest priority closed alerts from the last 3 days that originated from the same 3rd octet of an IP range and that are related to Incidents that have an Incident reassignment count greater than 2”.

In other words, you can resolve issues that need attention right now and use the same interface to find opportunities for process improvement.

Integrations Launchpad

From directly within the Service Operations Workspace, you can search, view, deploy and even monitor integrations for metrics, events, and log sources. While there are too many OOB integrations to fit into one screen shot, the Integrations Launchpad makes it easy to find what you need.

Selecting an integration provides a guided setup experience and there is also an option to onboard custom event sources via webhook. If your opinion is that normalizing events is good but writing code to normalize events is tedious, we must agree! You can now onboard custom event sources without writing code. The webhook URL and normalization code is simply generated on your behalf.

AIOps Dashboards

The AIOps Dashboards can be accessed directly from the Service Operations Workspace. These persona based dashboards help you to improve decision making, resource allocation and demonstrate ROI through relevant business metrics. Need a quick way to prove the value of ServiceNow AIOps to the business? Start with the AIOps Value Realization dashboard. There are also a number of technology based dashboards that are included for both Public Cloud and on-prem environments. The dashboards can be duplicated so that you can easily add your own KPI data visualizations and drill-downs and you can of course share the dashboards.
