Hi Team,
I’m looking for guidance on devising a Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) with a predominantly cloud-first footprint.
Current state:
Majority of applications are hosted in Azure (mix of IaaS and PaaS), with a smaller footprint in an on-prem data center
Business Applications are identified and aligned to Application Services
ITOM Discovery is in progress: On-prem servers via SCCM ,Azure resources via Azure Discovery
We do not currently have Service Mapping and do not plan to procure it in the near term
Future direction:
We want to start our Enterprise Architecture (EA) journey, beginning with: Application Rationalization
TPM/ TRM
Key questions:
How would you recommend approaching TPM and application rationalization ?
For Azure IaaS vs PaaS vs SaaS, what is the recommended approach to support TPM/APM outcomes?
How much technical CI's is “enough” to support TPM metrics without over-modeling?
Any insights, lessons learned, or recommended phased approaches would be greatly appreciated.
