AWS Discovery

I am using the plugin "Discovery Components for Amazon Web Services", but it appears to be very light on documentation.   Am I looking in the wrong places?

Specifically, I am trying to set up two different AWS Discovery jobs.   One of the jobs is to capture all of the AWS resources within AWS that are included out of the box with the plugin.   For the other job, I am trying to figure out how to poll the AWS Route53 API to get Route53 information.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Hi Dale,

For additional documentation you can refer to the Cloud Management section under IT Operations Management for more material related to AWS Discovery. There you can see how to configure the MID server to capture all of the AWS resources and populate your CMDB. Hope this helps.

Keep in touch if you need any further assistance regarding Discovery.

Lisa,

A part from cloud mgt have you've come across business/user's case for Amazon Web Service discovery?   Yesterday successfully completed 1st discovery of one of our AWS accounts using SN's Amazon Web Service discovery. I am meeting with my internal Cloud team later today and working on documenting the benefits of populating SN's cmdb with these 7 classes of CIs AWS discovery brings in.   This internal Cloud team is a mature one with a number of existing cloud mgt tool.

I now realize what I was trying to do was write a custom probe/sensor to gather information from the AWS API that was not included with the OOTB probes/sensors...
