Hello friends,
When troubleshooting service mapping and running discovery on maps, ServiceNow picks a random MID server that has "Service Mapping" added to the supported application tab on the MID servers. We have a few AWS MID Servers that we are planning to use for discovering AWS environment so we kept the Service Mapping supported application there as well. Therefore sometimes AWS MID servers are being used to discover a map and of course it fails.
I couldn't find much documentation on if we really need or can do traditional service mapping in cloud beside Tag base discovery. But we assume we might need it.
Questions:
1. Does anyone know if typical service mapping (not tag based) can be used in AWS cloud?
2. If so or maybe, how can I exclude the MID servers to be used during Application discovery? There is no option to use MID server/cluster there.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.

BK,
I've yet to do AWS Discovery, but can you not just add the AWS IP Ranges as an exclude to the MID Servers you don't want to be using in that environment?
Otherwise I guess I would be looking at Scripted MID Server capabilities or creating a new MID Server Application and definining specific MIDs for that.
Hope this is of some help,
Richard
