CI Relationships - Infrastructure - Server to Switch , Router and Firewall

Hello Everyone, 

I am setting up discovery and started running discovery schedules for some subsets. Discovery results are good however i am not very satisfy with Ci relationships. Between applications (DB instances, Web Services) to Server relationship is great but I was also looking forward for Server to network relationships which i dont see very encouraging when i run some discovery scheduled. However these relationships are something every technical team ask for when do change on network devices. 

Have anyone got this right? Is there any best practice to follow while setting up discovery to get all infrastructure Ci relationship in place. Please do share

Also if someone cat comment why we dont have a pattern for Firewall in NY release ? is there any specific reason. We can build a pattern or also use Probe and Sensor but wanted to understand is there any specific reason wehy OOTB pattern is not added for Firewall?

I would check that you are collecting all the expected information when looking at infrastructure relationships. That's usually the first challenge.. As to firewalls, those will be arriving in a store release here soon..

Thanks @doug.schulze  for replying. I will be verifying if i am capturing all information as mentioned on ServiceNow doc. 

Wanted to ask just one more thing - if this relationship establishes only at the time of CI creation or relationship get established as and when these information get added to CI record ? in case if detailed were missing in first run of discovery but those got added in 2nd run and Ci is updated - if relationship establishes at that time too ?

Thanks @doug.schulze for helping me with my queries. Just one more and apologies for asking so many

For many of Network Devices i see serial number getting discovered and also added under serial number table for CI however this does not come up on form. I was checking this using pattern debugger and going though step-by-step in pattern. I do get serial number added at one point however same gets erased in next few steps from CI form (i.e. cmdb_ci_ip_router.serial_number field) 

If this is expected ?
