Hi All,
We are running discovery for the first time for our customer. We are facing issues mapping CI and Asset fields.
A draft windows server to asset mapping we created is as per the attached sheet. Please provide inputs for the other fields
Thanks,
Saumya

After discovery run all server are stored in their own class in cmdb Server. I need to map only windows server (cmdb_ci_win_server) to asset management table(alm_hardware and alm_asset)
We are trying to implement Discovery >Configuration Management >Asset management.
Please let us know how to map CI Table and data field with Asset.
Thanks,
Santosh

If you only need to map windows server to asset management then go to the model categories and select the Windows sever category as a hardware model. (see attachment)
The assets will automatically be created by a scheduled job.
If you then wish for further fields to be synced between the assets and the CI then a business rule which fires when the record is updated would do this.
Note: Some fields are already synced and its probably advisable to keep technical information in the CI and out of the Asset.
