Hi All,
I am facing strange issue with discovery. A linux server with 3 dns names. Every time disovery runs it sets different CI name based on whatever dns name it finds first.
Interestingly, host name is not changing and coming as correctly.
For Ex.
Linux Server: myserver_truename@mycompany.com
Other DNS names: myserver_A@mycompany.com, myserver_B@mycompany.com, myserver_C@mycompany.com
Hostname: myserver_true@mycompany.com
Discovery on day 1 sets the CI name as myserver_A@mycompany.com
Discovery on day 2 sets the CI name as myserver_B@mycompany.com
Discovery on day 3 sets the CI name as myserver_C@mycompany.com

Brajendra,
Go to Discovery Definition --> Properties and make your setting like below.
After that, your hostnames won't get updated by DNS.
Regards,
Vivek

Hi All,
What is the result when all 4 are checked (DNS, WMI, SSH and SNMP)?
Also, how can we find out which protocol takes precedence over the other?
Thanks!

I have the same question. Did you get any answer to this outside of this thread?
Thanks!
