Discovery Errors - Payload Processing / Check Output

Hi Everyone,

We have been starting to look at Discovery and while it's found a lot of our gear, there are a few things that have some errors I can't seem to troubleshoot easily. Here's an example during discovery of a switch:

Similar things are happening with our NetApp clusters - The "Discovery" log is fine, and you can see the details of the device being found and categorised, but when it comes to the "Check Output" set, it fails. We have also seen some errors such as "duplicate serial numbers" which seem pretty hard to troubleshoot as well, however this one doesn't really give us much information.

Where should I start looking for more in-depth details, and how could we troubleshoot?

Thanks a lot,
Andrew

I found it in the HI portal, but I'm not sure if everyone has access to all PRBs, or only the ones you have raised. Eventually it'll be referenced in the change log on Docs for whichever version patch it is applied to.

Hey Andrew,

I ran into the same issue, did you end up finding a solution?

Thanks

Quentin

Hi Guys,

as Andrew stated, the switch issue was fixed in PRB1286427 and is available in KP8, London and above. if i understand correctly from your post, the netapp issue you encountered was also fixed in PRB1281592 for KP8, LP1 and above.

thanks for raising these issues and hope this is helpful for you.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for getting back to us. The switch issue was fixed, yes, however the NetApp issue which has been changed in London is not working. I have raised further incidents in HI where it was reverted.

We have moved our NetApp to Clustered On-TAP mode which is no longer discovering correctly. It has to do with how the pattern identifies the SVMs and IP Addresses assigned to the cluster. I have logged this in HI today as well.

Andrew,

does the netapp pattern still not work for you after upgrading to kp8/lp1?

could you post/send me the incident number for this issue? thank you.
