Discovery Integration with Cisco Prime

We are considering using Cisco Prime (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps12239/index.html) as a input source for our infrastructure devices such as routers and switches into our federated CMDB which is currently fed by discovery.

Has anyone used Cisco Prime as part of their Discovery GPS? The route that Sr. Mgmt seems to want to take is:

- Workstations / Servers = Discovery
- Software = Flexera
- Asset = Apptio
- Network = Cisco Prime

I have the others under control, but have no experience with Cisco Prime's output.

any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

But on the discovery side what you are planning is fine with us.. I would suggest either making all your SNMP Classifiers to false or better yet use a behavior that only scans for SSH/WMI/DNS/WINS/WEBM that way you'll ignore the network pieces.

But know you won't get printers or powering devices... Are those within your scope? because you still have options!

Hi,

Need more details on integration with Cisco Prime.

Can someone please share some details on this, is there any adapter for this integration.
