Discovery - Maximum Devices

Hi,

A customer has asked me if ServiceNow Discovery can scale up to 5 million devices?

I have never heard of any upper limits for Discovery and I woud expect it to easily scale up to this number but can anyone advise fact?

Hey Philip,

You can set scan limit by setting up the DISCOVERY properties.

ByDefault value is 100000

5 million?   Phil, were talking 10-20-30 million devices can be discovered!

yeah a little crazy to think of but really its all about the amount of time you have to update all those records..Midservers just go through a queue of work and however long that takes , well it takes that long..

Ive seen upto 100k devices updated in a single day..

Oh and the property that Nayan speaks of is how many IPs can be included in a single schedule... not a limit on the number of devices to be discovered!
