Please let me know if anyone faced this requirement when there is a possibility of ServiceNow discovery schedule to use only SNMP V2 version when V1/V2 is selected.

Hi @Abhinav Gupta1 ,

Selecting "All" would allow the schedule to try both versions of SNMP credentials. While SNMP v3 is more secure, if the device only supports v1/v2, your schedule will need to either use v1/v2 or "All" to try both versions.

Another approach would be to set up two separate schedules: one for SNMP v1/v2 and another for SNMP v3.

In this series i have explained about ServiceNow Discovery right from scratch like how you can enable the discovery plugin, what are the discovery prerequisites, what all question you should ask for your client before start the discovery implementation, how you can configure discovery schedules ...

We do not have devices which support SNMP V3, we need to use only SNMP V2 is there any option to select only V2 not V1

Hi @Abhinav Gupta1 ,

On that case you can select V1/V2c. It will not give you error if correct credentials are placed. It is only for telling to Discovery engine that look only for "SNMP Community Credentials (Password Only) " type credentials not v3 one.

There is no option called SNMPv2. you need to select V1/V2 option available in the discovery schedule page.
