Discovery Setup

Hello Everyone,

I am new bee inServiceNow Discovery, and we are currently in the process of discovering servers. To facilitate this, we have set up a MID server with local admin privileges. We have also scheduled the discovery process. However, during the discovery logs analysis, we've encountered numerous warning messages, including:
• Adding target to blacklist due to no valid credential found for type [Windows]
• No credential found for type [BASIC_AUTH]
• SSH authentication or connection failure
• MID Server mid.server.MIDservername is not a suitable MID due to lacking certain capabilities, specifically [{Capability: Nmap, value: null}]
• We are unable to establish a connection to https://X.X.X.X/sdk, and we're encountering a java.rmi.RemoteException, with a nested exception being java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect

Despite these warnings and issues, we've only managed to discover one server, which is the host machine, along with a few printers.
We would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights you can provide regarding these challenges. Thank you in advance for your help

Hi,

Have you done any training in ServiceNow Discovery? Discovery Fundamentals course will cover all of these topics and give you the proper understanding.

At a first glance, your issues seems related to not having the proper credentials to access the servers.

Thanks you for your response,

I've completed the course you mentioned, and it appears that the issue we're experiencing is related to credentials only. We are working on it.

Check connectivity between Mid server and Servers.

Credentials are not correct first do a test credentials from UI then try discovery. Refer below KB for detailed troubleshooting on connectivity and Credentials.
