Having trouble classifying Wyse thin clients using SNMP

So I created a custom probe and loaded it up with the relevant OID's.

When I test the probe it returns the payload showing the info I want i.e. device name, Ip, serial number, etc.

When I run discovery it completes just fine but the devices tab just shows current activity "classifying" and the device never gets sent to the cmdb.  The ECC queue doesn't display any classification activity at all and just shows the following information:

The input from the snmp probe shows as follows and has all the info I want highlight but like I say, nothing happens beyond this i.e. no classification/exploration, etc.

If anyone can offer any help, please do.

Regards

Paul

darthjed,

I applied your update set in my SandBox instance which is Jakarta Patch 6, but got the error below.  After accepting the error and committing the update set, I am still not able to scan WYSE devices.  Do you have further suggestions?

Error

Missing item a603b9100f863600a26d847022050ee6

Could not find a record in discovery_probes for column child referenced in this update

Thank you,

Shane

That would be the firmware probe. I borrowed some of Doug Schulze's wisdom in this post. I've dropped it into the attached set, along with its sensor and SNMP field.

As far as the WYSE scan failures, you'll have to keep trying. WYSE terminals don't always return all the info needed to discover them. You can also try some of the other thin client discovery posts. Also, make sure you've added the MIBs to your instance. The MIB I linked may or may not be the one you need.

Thank you darthjed.  I will look into those links.  Appreciate the help.

Did you create a new CI Identifier?  Also, do you have an sensor created to read the data to insert into CMDB table?

Sorry to dig up an old post but did anyone ever get this working fully? Our Wyse zero clients are being incorrectly classified as standard network switches, so as the very least I’d like to classify them as thin clients instead. We can pull the rest of the data from our PCoIP management server (hopefully).
