Hi @Amit Panjwani ,

Yes, creating a Generic CI is a common approach for representing PaaS/SaaS applications or third-party cloud services in your service map.

2nd approach:(not generally used)

You can use integration tools and APIs provided by the PaaS/SaaS providers to gather information about the services and their dependencies. This data can then be imported into ServiceNow to create and update the service map.

Hi Mohd,

When you say Generic CI, are you talking about creating a CI as a Generic Application CI, or at the cmdb_ci level as a Configuration Item?

Hi @Amit Panjwani,

For most of the SAAS application, the support is with the SAAS vendor. You will not have visibility towards the infra.

use dynamic ci groups if you have information about the CI. To have top down map, you must have deep horizontal discovery.
