Hi Tamil,
To explain simply ServiceNow sends multiple probes to your target device depends upon the OS. All the probes will go through your MID Server. The probe results are processed by Sensors which will update in CMDB CI tables.
Asset information is getting populated based upon some business rules that rules will run whenever some record inserts into CMDB table. Also, the creation of Assets depends upon the Model categories.

Few questions below
1.Once when discovery gets data from sensors, which table it will populate on CMDB
2. What business rules on which table
3. how does it depend on model categories - does discovery creates it?

Hi Tamil,
1)For Each device, ServiceNow will trigger some list of probes and for each probe, there will be a sensor to process the results of the probe. Based on the device different sensor will update different CMDB CI tables. Suppose When you discover Windows server, multiple sensors will update into Windows Server table.
2)Create asset on the insert, Create asset on model change, update asset fields on change..these are all business rule I remember.
3)Discovery does not create Model categories. There will be some OOB Model categories, which are used to create assets. When you open Model category table each model category will have CI class and Asset class. In any of the Model category having CI class and Asset class both, then when you create CI on that class it also creates asset based on the business rule. Also, it works bi-directionally, means when you create asset with some model category it will create CI also.
