How to add Windows credentials for the Discovery

Dear All,

I am trying to add Windows Credentials in the Credentials for the discovery But I am getting error as Authentication Failed, Could anyone explain me how we could get these Credentials i.e Username and Password?

Hi @Shivam26 

Are you using the AD domain in the prefix for example if the TestUser is from Example1 domain, the the user name should be Example1\TestUser.  Also verify the node/ip your testing is part of the same domain, check with your windows support team to verify the credentials.

I am not sure from where we could get the username and password, I am doing it for my own learning purpose, the midserver installation is done but I am not sure from where we could get these credentials. In the above scenerio I had created these credentials in my own system and was testing it. Could you help me with this.

Hi @Shivam26 

When you install Mid Server in your system, a windows credentials is already been added into credential table. You don't need to now go and add more credentials.

Please see below snap, test your host IP address, on this MID Server, please make sure your pattern are updated.

That credential will be used in the classification phase for the discovering your device.

Hi Prabu,

i am implementing Discovery for one of customer who is going thru Merger. The discovery needs to be implemented to new company. The windows credential is Domain specific  as they have their domain, which is merged with ours. But when i try to test windows credentials, its TimeOut with no error.

Could you please help and suggest how to use Domain specific user for windows credentials.
