We have a situation in our environment, where the virtual machine name may be different in vcenter than the actual hostname (DNS name) of the server/computer. As such, I am looking for a clean way to extract this value and map it to a custom field on the CI (DNS Name) for better reporting and tracking. Any assistance would be appreciated.
