Hello Guys,
As we all know every server should be linked with is hypervisor(May be VMware VM Instance or EC2 Instance) in theory.
But at present this is not the case.
So wanted to find out the CI's which are not linked to Its Hypervisor(VMWare Virtual Machine Instance) and build a report on that so it is possible to get them linked weekly or monthly?
I have checked the relationship table by applying the filter type is : Virtualized by::Virtualizes and parent class is VMWare virtual instance but don't found any records.,which is wrong as there are servere linked to VMWare VM Instance. How to do this?
Is this possible?

Mahak

Hi Mahak,
To generate a report to show this, I would use the query builder. The Query builder allows you to report on CIs that do not have a certain type of relationship to another CI .. ie missing relationships!
I have a report which takes Virtual Windows server CIs and highlights any which do not have a related ESX/Hyper-V host server, using the the relationship option of 'No Relationships'.
I've created a version of this (attached) which will report on any Virtual Windows server with no related VMware or Hyper-V VM Instance (obviously you would change the Hyper-V entry to EC2 for your instance) using the Query builder.
Hope this help.

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for the response .
Can we do the opposite of this ?
Using CMDB Query Builder can we find the all the Virtual Machine Instances having no relationships with any CI in Hardware (windows, linux , esx)Class.
I have tried this but its not giving the appropriate results .
Can you please help!!
Thanks in advance!!
