Hi,
We had around 5k duplicate records on our production instance. We modified the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), which drastically reduced the creation of duplicates. We are still in the process of remediating the duplicates using de-duplication.
Here are some additional steps you can take:
- Use the Duplicate CI Remediator wizard: This tool can assist in remediating individual de-duplication tasks.
- Create de-duplication templates: You can access the De-duplication dashboard in the CMDB Workspace to create templates that remediate de-duplication tasks in bulk.
- Implement Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE): Configuring the IRE with relevant rules can help prevent the duplication of Configuration Items (CIs) or task assignments for the de-duplication of CIs by designated groups on priority.
