How would a renewed TLS Certificate (if original was imported via Bulk Upload) get added to CMDB?

If we added certificates to the Unique Certificate table (cmdb_ci_certificate) via Bulk Upload, and want to renew a certificate, how do we get the new certificate added to the Unique Certificate table?
(Similar for requesting a NEW certificate - manual)
We are using our own custom catalog request for New & Renew.
Would we need to manually bulk upload the new one?

if you are not 'discovering' you would have to upload it. what's stopping from running discovery?

We've attempted to run discovery, but not able to get discover for all of the internal certificates (Microsoft CA) yet, so thought we'd start with Bulk Upload, while we troubleshoot discovery.
A couple other questions though:
1) when I ran a smaller test of the Bulk Upload, it said it successfully imported 12 certificates, and no errors, yet I only see 11. I noticed that 2 of the certificates had the same fingerprint, but it didnt give any indication that there was a duplicate fingerprint. Ideally it would highlight that, so we could more easily spot the error.
Shouldn't it show this?
2) I've attempted to include the Description field (short_description) to the Template, but it did not import that field. Thoughts? We also added a custom field for a similar purpose (comment field - string), but it did not import that either.
Is there something special I need to do, so that these fields can be bulk imported too?
