Hi,
We want to discover our HPE C7000 Enclosures but our system guys will not activate SNMP. No great shakes as there is currently no Pattern for this discovery, just an old Probe that hasn't been touched for a while. We've been told that all the information we require is available in HPE OneView.
This document https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=A00035514ENW says the following:
For resources managed by HPE OneView, you can accomplish this easily with tools you already have in place, without paying for any costly add-ons. Within each HPE OneView instance, there is a reporting feature that allows you to generate a Server Hardware report and download that report in a simple CSV file. You can then simply map your report to the ServiceNow CMDB using the Table Transform Maps process. The one-time mapping configuration can be completed in a few minutes. Once the mapping is complete, you can upload your CSV file into ServiceNow at the push of a button.
All well and good but there are no tables available OOB. Just wondering if anybody has already done any work in this area? Id rather not reinvent the wheel and have some consistency with other users. If we were doing SNMP Discovery then we'ed probably create a table under Network Gear but I'm tempted just to create a new table and attributes under Hardware. Ideally the Enclosures would somehow be associated with Racks. Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Andrew

Andrew,
I've never done this integration but it doesn't sound too hard you just need to do a data mapping exercise to see what data is in it and how it can map to out of the box tables. Since it sounds like it's network gear you can start with that table and then sub classify based upon a type field provided by OneView. I suspect that there isn't too many people that have integrated with this tool before but honestly it should be easy enough to do.
The only thing you will be missing by integrating this way is possible L2 relationships to servers but if they are super locked down then you probably wouldn't be able to get the information you need for that anyways so a CI import might be the way to go here. Hope this helps.
