Impact of mandatory field property "glide.required.attribute.enabled"

Dear All,

I want to make this property enabled true for IRE in cmdb & discovery.

"glide.required.attribute.enabled"

I know everything about this property but don't know the real impact.

we are using pattern based discovery.

Will it create empty CIs? what should i check before enabling this property?

we have large cmdb table over 3 million records.

We have 100 discovery scheduled job running across the globe.

Hi Anshu,

This property will force attributes to be mandatory. for example: if your CI Class has serial number or short description field marked as mandatory using dictionary and if the pattern or probe is not having that in there while creating or updating the CI then it will give you error.

This is not going to create empty CIs for you.

Ok so when i made this property false, i get 10 entries created on Hardware Type class.

The entries were no created when mandatory was true.
