Integration Guidance: Data Center Monitoring Tool with SN for Change Management & Equipment Mapping

Hello Community,

I am exploring the integration of a Data Center Monitoring Software (DCO & DCE) with ServiceNow to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Change Ticket Automation: The tool provides critical device information, and we want to raise ServiceNow Change tickets automatically based on alerts generated by the tool.
  2. Equipment List Pull: Integrate the tool to allow equipment lists to populate in Change Request tickets. The data flow direction for this is into ServiceNow.
  3. Power Path Dependencies & Impact Analysis: The tool also supports understanding power path dependencies for IT equipment in data center cabinets. This includes mapping power distribution to servers, enabling capacity reporting, trending, and change impact planning.

Given these requirements, I have the following questions:

  1. What would be the best approach to configure the integration for data flow into ServiceNow, particularly for automating the creation of Change tickets from alerts?
  2. Is there a recommended strategy for importing equipment lists from the tool into a Change Request record in ServiceNow?
  3. For power path dependency mapping and impact analysis, has anyone implemented a similar integration? If so, what data models or tables in ServiceNow did you use to represent this data effectively?
  4. Are there any challenges or limitations I should anticipate during the integration process?

I’d appreciate any insights, best practices, or example configurations the community can share.

Thank you!
