License - CMDB Discovery

Hello All, 
We are currently building our CMDB. Have used ServiceNow discovery to discover our IT Infrastructure. Found close to 300,000 CIs(which is a lot). Is there a mechanism we can use to control what kind/eligible CIs to be discovered into CMDB?
I have tried to disable the probes like running processes, tracked configuration files for some of the discovered servers. It worked but will this have any impact in terms of service mapping and CSDM model?
Also from license perspective,  what are the devices(CIs) discovered will be counted? Will anything and everything that is included in the table cmdb_ci.LIST will be considered/counted for License?
Need some solution on this.

Your licensing doesn't count against total CI's, just base classes. For example, the total number of devices under your cmdb_ci_computer class. Knowing a single compute could have 300+ other referencable CI's it only "costs" you one license/SU.

Best to talk to your account team about your company licensing program but don't be concerned, just because you have 300k (cmdb_CI's) doesn't mean you are consuming 300k licenses...

License is calculated based on certain rules and criteria. As Doug said its not on total count.

Now controlling What to discover- try using Discovery Configuration console to limit discovery items.
