Linking Incidents to Change Records

Not applicable

Hello

Does anyone know if it is possible to link an incident to a change ?

I have used the wiki and I know that by right clicking the header of the incident you can create a change record, however the change record doesn't reference the incident number or vice versa.

It would be really handy to know if the two can be linked as many of our incidents result in changes, if the two areas could link in, then we would know once a change has been implemented, the incident could be closed, or if we were viewing incidents, we could see if a change record had been created

Thanks in advance 🙂

Pam

i know there is a field on the incident form called 'caused by change' and there you can pick a change to link to incidents. I would imagine there is a field on the change form called 'caused/created/raised by incident' where you could do the same thing. or if not you could make one.

From the change form, personalize lists, and add Incident->RFC to view the Incidents linked to the new change. You'll also be able to add more than one incident to the change if needed.

I noted the comment above saying "You'll also be able to add more than one incident to the change if needed.". This is normally done with the EDIT button, but try as I might, I cannot find where this UI Action is (Global ?) or any List Action related to it. Thanks
