Mass Update: Resolve All Incidents at Once

I have around 5,000 incidents that I would like to set to “Resolved”. I know that it’s possible to update 100 tickets at a time, but is there a way to resolve all of them at once?

Hi @MuhammetS ,

try this which easy and effective way to update

Resolve All Incidents Using Data Management (Context Menu)

  1. Open the Incident list

    • Apply the filter so only the incidents you want to resolve are shown

  2. Right-click the list header

    • Choose Data Management

    • Select Update Records

  3. Set field values

    • Set State = Resolved

    • Populate required fields:

      • Close code

      • Close notes

      • Resolved by (if required in your instance)

  4. Save

    • Review the preview count to confirm  5,000 records

  5. Execute the job

    • Click Execute

    • Monitor progress from the Data Management job status
If this response helps you solve the issue, please mark it as the Accepted Solution.

Hello @MuhammetS,

This is achievable without scripting. Please:

  • Go to the incident table and apply your filters (Which would results in 5000 incidents)
  • Right click on the list header and click on "Data Management" > "Update All with preview"MediC_0-1769422701068.png

  • You can decide if you would like to have the system fields updated as well and if to execute business rules and other flows

Technically, "Auto updating system fields" is similar to "autoSysFields", and "Run business rules and engines" is similar to "setWorkflow" when scripting.

  • After that, you can click on "Execute Now" related link.

If you found this helpful, please hit the thumbs-up button and mark as correct. That helps others find their solutions.
