MID Server in a private network

Hi,

I have a test environment using private IP 10.x.x.x and has an internet connection. I have tried to setup a MID server in this environment to connect to our demo instance. I can use the browser in this machine to access https://our_instance.service-now.com so there is no network issue in this lab machine. I have config the MID server in our instance and used the same MID server name in the config.xml. I have also configured the required username/password into config.xml. The only error in the agent log says "SEVERE .... Unable to connect to instance ....". I followed the installation procedure in the wiki, did I miss something?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Doug
I am in same situation
MID server configured with proxy settings, I can access ServiceNow instance using browser
but telnet instancename.service-now.com 443 gives me Connect failed error,
MID server is under test enviornment under my company corporate network.
What should I request to Network & security team in my company? can below request is enough for them to understand what I need?

Source Server: 172.xxx.xxx.xxx(IMS LAB)
Destination Server: https://instance.service-now.com
Port Number: 443
Direction: Unidirectional
Remark: Secured HTTPS connection

Are you sure you have uncommented the lines for the proxy settings? I ask because some folks add the proxy info but forget to remove the comment lines from the section.. The are the ''

OR

Are you using what I call a 'web washer' as a proxy such as a bluecoat or web sense appliance? There's a problem here because unlike 'standard' network proxies that allow traffic based on port alone those devices are doing actual packet analyzation looking for browser host headers.. which we dont have in our connection..If that is the case you will want them to allow our traffic without their review...
