Mid Servers not visible in my instance

Hi all

I have  done a new MID server installation. The MID server installed and connected successfully. No error in the log also.

The mid server is reflected in the list of services in my system also.

But the mid servers are not visible in my instance.

Could anyone please help me in this regard, why the mid servers are not visible in my instance?

Thanks & Regards

Ram

Hi Darshan,

I'm not sure if you checked the below article, if not, please check it:

Unable to see a new installed MID Server in services.msc or need to uninstall a MID Server - Support...

Hello Dharsan

We did face the problem again on Monday the 23rd of September on all our instances (prod and non-prod).

FYI:

- At that time we were on Washington DC Patch 4 Hot Fix 1b  with "September 21, 2024 as Last Updated".

Because of that date and as we had the problem on Monday, 23rd of September, it could be related to that last update? But as it was on all of our instances at the same day and as ServiceNow does not apply updates on prod and non-prod instances at the same time, it is more than likely not related to the ServiceNow update.

- OS of our Mid servers = Windows 2016

Solution on the 23rd of September:

Once again I changed the config.xml as described in my comment of 03-01-2024 and afterwards the MID servers were visible as up & running in all our instances.

Currently we do not see any errors in the logs like "PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target"  so it is difficult to investigate.

As a test, today

1) I changed the config.xml (change the values of the 3 bootstrap-parameters into "false") + restarted the windows service on the Mid Server of one of our non-prod instances.

Result: The Mid server was visible after 30 seconds as up & running in the instance.

2) Then I changed the values of the 3 bootstrap-parameters into "true" again and restarted the windows service on the Mid Server.

Result: The Mid server was visible after 30 seconds as up & running in the instance.

Hope it might help a bit.

Kind regards

Werner

Hi, just my 5 cents - as far as I know there was some global issue with certificate and many ServiceNow customers were impacted on 23/Sep.

Hope it helps

This seems to be working for me. But when I change the parameter's value to true mid server does not come up in Instance. Any idea as what might be going on here?
