While troubleshooting an issue in regards to a requested item workflow skipping an activity/approval when it shouldn't have, I noticed that there are MANY requested items are missing the workflow context. There doesn't seem to be a pattern as far as date. The vast majority are closed and the approvers are captured on the RITM but the related links to view the workflow or workflow context are missing. Running a report also confirms that this data is missing. How could this happen? We need to preserve this data for audit purposes.

Are you looking at this in a sub-production instance? If so, that is because, by default, workflow contexts are not copied over in a clone. The data should still all be there in production.

Nope. This is in prod. That is why I am absolutely baffled.

Exactly the same issue here.
As far as I know, there are Table Cleaners and the Workflow History, Context and Transaction History are one of the tables to be cleaned.
After 6 months a RITM is closed those records are cleaned.
Would be better to hold that information for at least 18 months or so.
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to retrieve the information.

HI,
have you cloned recently? there is data clean up done on this table. mostly it will hold data for few days, months.
Is this issue in dev or prod.
