Hello friends,
I am working on IP Switch discovery. After last weeks discovery, it is observed that the model ID of a few CI's is changed to another mode ID (It is not the completely different model but another model from same manufacturer). SNMP OID is also automatically created after discovery. I am not sure why the model ID is getting updated through ServiceNow Discovery. All the models updated belong to IP Switch class.
How to resolve this and avoid this model update in future.
Please suggest.
Thank you
Asmita

Dear @Asmita7 - Haven't seen anything similar so far. A couple of queries to understand further!
1) Which manufacturer and what is the old and new model names?
2) Was there any recent upgrade on servicenow instance?
3) Was there any IOS upgrade on network on these switches?
4) SNMP OID auto creation after discovery is very interesting. Are you sure its done after discovery? can you check the create/update and created by/updated by field to verify that.
thanks,
Aneesh Damodaran

Just check that Pattern, from where the model is taken. But I suspect that the switch OS was upgraded and therefore you have slightly different values.
And I have never heard, that SNMP OID Classification is created automatically??
