Dear community members,
I have a question, we are discovering Network Router and Switches. I would like to change the state when Discovery finds a devices to "Installed". OOTB this doesn't seem to be the case, for Windows Servers this works exactly this way.
But I couldn't find any hint in the documentation what should be the behavior. Any thoughts or comments anyone?
Best regards,
Frank

I assume windows Server -State as Install is coming from ASSET Management.
Can you check is this Value is Set by Discovery User in Audit Log?

thanks for the comment and no, this isn't coming from the asset for Windows Server, this comes from Discovery. The customer doesn't use HAM actively, and to have more fun. The Asset is "in Stock" the machine installed as it's found by Discovery.
But HAM isn't in scope at all for the moment.
Thanks,
Frank

install_status -- Validate the Installed still has OOB value.. As the default discovery will set install_status to Installed (1) when its discovered. |

Discovery processes can indeed be a bit tricky to navigate sometimes. I remember diving into networking stuff myself not too long ago and feeling a bit lost in the sea of documentation.
One time, while setting up a new network, I encountered the dreaded err address unreachable message. It was frustrating, to say the least! But you know what helped? Doing some digging and finding little nuggets of wisdom in unexpected places.
While I didn't stumble upon a direct answer to your question in the documentation, I found that sometimes the best insights come from community discussions and shared experiences.
