Team, we have implemented Cloud discovery and we need to find a way to populate the location of the VM instances based at the related cloud account.
We are not going to leverage the Tags as we dont have the information well handled.
On the VM instance form, when I click on show xml, I see value for location display field, but I am not sure how to use this value. Any assistance will be appreciated.

if this CI was added through discovery, location of the CI is the datacenter to which the CI is related. check for the logical datacenter contains relation for the CI.
if you are running cloud operations workspace, the reports and dashboards already provide location information - tables like sn_disco_cd_azure_vm_analytics also give you row-wise detail of the CI with its location (Region/LDC) and the account it belongs.
Please isntall Cloud Ops workspace which is free for discovery customers.

Thanks for your response @Ram Devanathan1 , the records are populated via discovery and they do have relationships with the logical datacenter. But as the location field is empty, do we need to create a BR or something to pull the value for location field?
