Question regarding traps for event collection

Hi Everyone,

Need help understanding the trap for event collection, I followed the doc to configure the snmp trap in midserver and mapped the same with an external monitoring tool, and tested the port. The port is open in midserver which has been tested, how ever the events are not being logged in the events table, when I checked the forum I came across a few posts about attaching MIBs to the SNMP, I tried looking for a doc to get more understanding of this. I couldn't find any, just checking to see if anyone has any information/link/doc for understanding this a little more.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I assume this job is active- Event Management - process events

Do u see instances of this in - System schedule > Scheduled Jobs > Event Management - process events

Hi Rahul,

Yes, the process event is active, The event gets posted if I send a custom payload from PostMan to the midserver IP and port number,  the issue happens only when I try to send it via trap.

can you share what the snmptrap listener looks like?

Hi Ryan,

This is the SNMP trap context configured in ServiceNow, I don't have access to the server where the mid server is installed, waiting for that access to check if there are mib files in the mid server folder. I tried the default comms port 445/80 as well as 1162, just in case. Also, It would be a great help if someone could redirect me to a link/article where we can get more information about attaching custom MIB to midserver that aren't OOB. After going through multiple posts I think the failure might be due to me not attaching any MIB to Mid Server but I wanna understand more about attaching MIB before I do something.
