Reporting on incidents created between certain times daily

I am looking on creating a report that would find out how many incidents were created in my instance between X and Y hours of a day, for X months. ServiceNow support said there was not a basic functionality to perform this kind of report, so I turn to the community to see if they are able to assist with this.

I have come up dry looking for this kind of functionality already discussed on the forum. Reported of creation between certains dates is easy, but time I can't seem to locate.

Thank you.

I was going to say this probably has to be done with Custom Charts by creatively creating your own report. But when I think about it, maybe the better option is to create a new metric altogether that records the hour of a day an incident is open. Then all you have to create is a basic report on your metric.

Have you tried using the 'Trend' feature in the standard reporting tool? You should be able to add trends for before/after each hour in a day, as well as start/end dates and even days of the week.

Custom charts will certainly give you more control but it will require a lot more time and effort to configure.

See the attached screen capture for details on using the trend feature.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for the solution - the 'trend' option on the report worked nicely.

Cheers!!

Thank you for the responses.

The trend option in reporting looks like the tool I need, however where are the options for half hours? Only full hour blocks are options, leaving out possibility of 8:30 am 9:30am etc.

Thanks.
